All men use porn so it’s okay.

REALITY: Even if all of your friends do use porn, that is no reason for you to commit adultery. For if you lust after a woman, you have committed adultery in your heart.

You are not an addict, if you use or view porn.

REALITY: Any activity that is bad for the person doing it, and that is an act of adultery, and is so important to you that you can’t stop, is an addiction. You have to realize this is the same as a drug or alcohol addiction; it is just that: an addiction, a need for external things that can harm you, to fulfill an inner need inside, and can destruct any existing real relationships that you currently have. You alone (not your wife or your girlfriend) are responsible for your heart and your mind.

Your insistence or reconciling in your mind that your use of porn is okay, is a great source of anguish for your wife or girlfriend. When you are involved in porn, all you can think about is yourself. The nature of pornography, is such that you are only concerned about how you feel, and if you are satisfied, completely being selfish, and you don’t even see how others in your life are affected, or how they have been hurt by your actions.

Porn is a manly thing.

REALITY: Porn is a weakness. There is nothing manly about viewing porn, it is an addiction to something that doesn't’t exist, it is the escape you are using to forget other disappointments's and problems. It is the epitome of weakness.

Men should be leaders in your homes and role models to your family. Porn decreases this effectiveness by your using it-it becomes an invasion into your family & threatens to deteriorate any family connection you ever had. Someone who is addicted to porn is in a bad state.
