What they “do” & the effects:
- Porn-napped sites-expired domain names of innocent sites that are taken over by pornographers.
- The Porn network is utilizing hotel chains such as Marriott, Westin, & Hilton to sell movies and explicit materials, using major distribution companies such as LodgeNet or On Command.
Effects
- Child molesters generally have a porn problem & so do rapists, stalkers, & adulterers.
- The porn industry creates an imaginary vision of women that is the opposite to any wholesome perspective. These women are “objects” to be used, abused, tossed, and then tossed aside. They are shown in dishonoring and unthinkable ways, often being manipulated by men, or multiple men. Every female porn star is someone’s daughter, or sister, or mother. Even though they may not respect themselves to say NO to this industry, we can respect them by ignoring such exploits, and by doing the due diligence if your husband or boyfriend is involved in porn, to get them help.
- Researchers performing studies with a control group, showed them porn photos, & different areas of their brains lit up & their brain scans closely resembled those of cocaine addicts while they were looking at the photos of drug using.
- Its harder for the porn addict than the cocaine addict, they are more likely to return to porn.
- The Centerfold Syndrome by Gary R. Brooks details the porn addiction process:
- Voyeurism-earliest symptom, involves looking at women rather than interacting with them
- Objectification-next symptom, women become objects based on how their bodies offer sexual satisfaction.
- Validation-next step, involves sense of validation based on a connection with sexy women with no concern for their character, basically Tophyism-the attitude of viewing women as trophies to be displayed as personal property or things to conquest
- Final step-fear of and inability for true intimacy in which a man can no longer relate to women at a spiritual or emotional level but as sexual objects
- Ted Bundy said, when interviewed by Dr. James Dobson, that every man he met in the prison system who was motivated to commit violence was deeply involved in and addicted to porn. He agreed with FBI findings, that one common interest serial killers have is porn.
